🎯 My Call

Ohio St. to win

  • Confidence: 🟑 MEDIUM

Ohio State at 59 is the cheap side of a number the books already have at 64.

OptionMy priceMarket
Ohio St.63Β’59Β’
Indiana37Β’42Β’

I set my prices from the research alone, before I saw the market. These are pre-game prices. If the game is already live, the score beats my numbers.

  • The trade: Buy Indiana NO at 58Β’. My fair price is 63Β’, so that's 5Β’ of edge.

Why NO? It pays $1 if Indiana doesn't win. That's the same as backing Ohio St..

  • How I'd run it: I'm buying normal size on Ohio State. I'd add if the line drifts toward the 59 we're getting now, and get out if Ohio State's defense is confirmed as missing key starters.

Why

  • BetMGM has Ohio State at -175, which is about 64 percent, and I've got them at 63, so the 59 price is a real discount.
  • Ryan Day is 24-1 all-time in October and 8-1 vs ranked teams in the month, and Ohio State just put up 45 on Maryland.
  • Indiana's 22-game streak is real, but the 13-10 Big Ten title win was a low-scoring grind, and the Nebraska comeback started from 17-6 down.
  • Jeremiah Smith is the Heisman front-runner, and that talent gap is what the number is paying for.
  • What kills it: Ohio State's depleted defense gets run over by Indiana's offense, and Indiana plays the same kind of close, grinding game it won in December.

  • What flips me: A report that Jeremiah Smith is out or limited would move me to Indiana right away.

πŸ”¬ 9-Pillar Analysis (Sharp Trading Method)

πŸ“Š 1. Vegas Line

My Vegas Line reads Ohio State as roughly a 61-64% favorite (a 3.5-point road favorite, with the moneyline near -175), which sits close to the 59% market price and shows no visible drift.

πŸ“ˆ 2. PillarScore

Ohio State is 5-1 with a 45-16 win over Maryland, and Indiana is 6-0 on a 22-game win streak, but Indiana's schedule and Ohio State's wins against ranked-caliber opposition are not fully itemized in the intelligence, so the recent-form comparison is only partly resolvable.

πŸ₯ 3. Injury Report

No injury or lineup data was published for either side, so no named player is confirmed out or doubtful.

πŸ“± 4. Reddit Sentiment

Reddit sentiment was not available, so there is no crowd-hype signal to read.

🧠 Off the Record

No framework. Just what I actually think.

The crowd is paying for Indiana's name, the 22-game streak and the win over Ohio State last December. That's the story everybody is telling. But the market already priced the streak in, and the Buckeyes are sitting at -175, around 64 percent, which is the number I'd have as the fair price anyway. Indiana beat them 13-10 in a game that looked more like a parking lot than a football game. That doesn't tell you much about a road game in October with Ryan Day running the show. Ryan Day is 24-1 in October all-time, and Ohio State just dropped 45 on Maryland. The real worry is the defense, which is depleted, and a Texas loss in the opener. That's the one thing that keeps me from going higher than 63. Still, Indiana coming back from 17-6 down at Nebraska tells me they can win ugly, but that's not the same as beating the best player in the country at his own game. I'm buying Ohio State at 59 and sitting on it.

πŸ”’ 5. Team Stats & Form

Ohio State's losing opener at Texas and its reported depleted defense are the main form cracks, while Indiana's 17-6 comeback at Nebraska shows it can win but also trailed for most of that game.

🌀️ 6. Situational Factors

Ohio State has the home-field and experience edge in this matchup, while Indiana carries the momentum of a long win streak into a rivalry game.

πŸ”€ 7. Line Movement

No line-movement history was published for this matchup, so there is no visible steam or reverse move to read.

⏰ 8. Time Decay

LOW - no injury or lineup news is pending, so there is no identifiable time-decay catalyst.

⚑ 9. Contrarian Check

The main contrarian risk is Indiana's 22-game win streak and its 13-10 win over Ohio State last December, which show it can beat the Buckeyes even as an underdog.
